Matthew White, M.A. Psychology, LSB
My name is Matthew White, I was born and raised on Long Island, New York, where I lived until my twenties. I first attended the University of Miami and then as a young adult, I lived in New York where I worked in the nursing home field, assisting with both patient care and business administration. Needing a change of pace and wanting to further a career in helping people both mentally and physically, I moved to Florida and earned a degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University. After graduating, I remained in Florida where I worked in the substance abuse rehabilitation field, assisting people who were facing great struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction. Here, I witnessed first-hand the connection between people’s physical health and their mental and emotional well-being, as I watched people begin to recover and find meaning, purpose and happiness in their lives.
In 2018, an incredible set of events gave me the opportunity to further my education by moving to Vienna, where I earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Webster University Vienna. In the final year of the master’s program, I completed my practical training at a private clinical psychology practice, where I was able to work with and support people of various ages, nationalities and countries of origin. This profound educational and hands-on experience inspired me to grow both personally and professionally. I decided to stay in Austria and begin working as a life and social counselor, with a focus on providing support to expats and the English speaking community of Vienna. I continually look forward towards meeting and engaging with new clients, helping them to discover how to overcome their personal challenges and to keep moving forward towards happiness, success and a more balanced life.
